•  Workshop in the event e-STAS 2006 (Seville), presenting on behalf of the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Intl. Cooperation the guidelines of the document prepared for the Ministry about ICT mainstreaming in Spanish Intl. Cooperation. (Jun 06)

•  Preparation of a report about ICT, Development and Intl. Cooperation for the Spanish Confederation of Development NGOs (CONGDE). (Mar 06)

•  Preparation of a ‘Guide for Mainstreaming ICT into Spanish International Cooperation' for the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation. (Nov 05 - Feb 06)

•  Evaluation for UN Volunteers and UNDP of the Youth Corps ( Corpo Jovens ) project in Cape Verde, aimed at placing volunteering as a resource linking environmental protection with poverty reduction (via income generation), by appealing to young people. (Sep – Nov 05)

Leading a new unit composed of six professionals, created at UNV to increase the agency´s participation in the ICT for Development area. Managing two special programmes: (1) UNITeS (United Nations Information Technology Services), a new global UN initiative to mobilize ICT volunteers on the opportunities of ICT for developing countries; (2) Online Volunteering (with Netaid.org), a service to facilitate volunteering for international development through the Internet. Responsible for setting and implementing strategies on programme formulation, establishing partnerships, resource mobilization, marketing and communications, and web centric services. Advisor to senior management on ICT for Development policies, volunteer networking, and development cooperation in the context of the Information (or Network) Society.

Environmental Specialist / Focal Point for ICT and Development (02/98-11/00)
At the Strategy and Research Unit, overall responsibility for developing and advancing corporate strategies in the areas of Environment. Contributions to the formulation of new programmes/projects. Establishing programming partnerships with institutions inside/outside the UN System. Substantive support to projects and backstopping to UNV staff overall.

Initiating an area of work for UNV ICT for Development, including projects and activities. Developing a mid-term corporate strategy to respond to increased global attention to the digital divide, in order to establish ICT for Development as a new corporate priority for UNV. Involvement in definition of new corporate information services policies.

Establishment of a database for documentation/learning from project experiences. Design of new tools related to programming and project development for UNV Programme Officers.

Focal point for the application of ICT to development cooperation, and for the “Science and Technology” areas of the Regional Programme. Regional focal point for Capacity 21 (programme within UNDP related to capacity building for the implementation of Agenda 21). Contribution to formulation and approval of projects, backstopping for country offices, monitoring and evaluation. Work on updating information systems and information management strategies for the Bureau, including initial stages of an intranet for the Regional Bureau. Formulation of a proposal for a hemispheric portal on sustainable development (Plaza 21).
