IICD Country Programmes

The focus of the Programme was on the implementation of IICD Country Programmes in Zambia and Ecuador.

IICD Country programmes support national civil society organizations to integrate ICTs in their development activities and processes, as a means of strengthening their management, reach and impact. The Programme supported some projects implemented by HIVOS local partners, as well as the CPs overall. IICD’s unique operational CP scheme rests on four separate and interrelated pillars:

(i) Projects emanating from sectorial Round-Tables,

(ii) Capacity Development, to improve technical ICT skills (also a little to strengthen other institutional capacity).

(iii) Knowledge Sharing, in the form of ‘Information Networks’ to support local initiatives to share knowledge and experiences with ICT-enabled development.

(iv) Monitoring and Evaluation, a system that serves to assess IICD's role, the level of user satisfaction and the development impact of the programmes and projects.
